2019-20 Committee Sign Up

Committee assignments will begin June 25 (Legislative and Superintendent of the Year) and be completed by October. 

 

Review the committee descriptions below and indicate on which committee(s) you would be willing to serve using the form at the bottom of the page. Note the number of members needed for each committee and keep in mind a balance of administrative levels, school sizes and representation from throughout the state will be sought.

 

2020 Assistant Elementary Principal of the Year Selection Committee - Committee meets once in late winter/early spring via video conference and once at the SAI office to interview three finalists. Need five elementary principal/asst. principal members, 2019 recipient serves as chairperson. SAI staff assigned to work with this committee: Tracy Harms

2020 Assistant Secondary Principal of the Year Selection Committee - Committee meets once in the fall via video conference and once at the SAI office to interview three finalists. Need five assistant secondary principal members, 2019 recipient serves as chairperson. SAI staff assigned to work with this committee: Tracy Harms

2020 Central Office Administrator of the Year Selection Committee - Committee meets once in late winter/early spring via video conference and once at the SAI office to interview three finalists. Need five central office administrator members, 2019 recipient serves as chairperson. SAI staff assigned to work with this committee: Tracy Harms

2020 Elementary Principal of the Year Selection Committee - Committee meets once in late winter/early spring  via video conference and once at the SAI office to interview three finalists. 2020 Middle Level Principal of the Year Selection Committee - Committee meets once in late winter/early spring via video conference and once at the SAI office to interview three finalists. Need five middle level principal members, 2019 recipient serves as chairperson. SAI staff assigned to work with this committee: Tracy Harms

2020 Secondary Principal of the Year Selection Committee - Committee meets once in late winter/early spring via video conference and once at the SAI office to interview three finalists. Need five secondary principal members, 2019 recipient serves as chairperson. SAI staff assigned to work with this committee: Tracy Harms

2020 Superintendent of the Year Selection Committee - Committee meets once in late summer/early fall via video conference and once at the SAI office to interview three finalists. Need five superintendent members, 2019 recipient serves as chairperson. SAI staff assigned to work with this committee: Tracy Harms

IPERS Committee - Committee meets as needed to develop specific legislative recommendations and ongoing response during the legislative session. Need five members. SAI staff assigned to work with this committee: Matt Carver and Dave Wilkerson

Legislative Platform Development/Monitoring Committee - Committee meets three to four times at the SAI office or via video conference to assist in developing and monitoring the association’s legislative platform. Need 10 members. SAI staff assigned to work with this committee: Dave Wilkerson, Matt Carver, Roark Horn

Mentoring and Induction Program Committee - Committee meets once a year at the SAI office as advisory group to provide input to Mentoring and Induction Program. (Previous experience as a mentor or participation as a mentee valuable but not required.) (Meeting date: 3/31/20) SAI staff assigned to work with this committee: Dana Schon and Amy Swanson

Professional Learning Committee - Committee meets twice—in the fall at the SAI office and in the spring via video conference—to inform the planning and provide support for SAI's learning program, which includes annual conference. (Meeting dates: 10/4/19 and 4/9/20) SAI staff assigned to work with this committee: Dana Schon, Tracy Harms and Amy Swanson

School Law Conference Committee - Committee meets once or twice via video conference to plan and implement the annual school law conference. Need five members. SAI staff assigned to work with this committee: Matt Carver
