Cory Allison of Carlisle Elementary School is the recipient of the 2018 Iowa Assistant Elementary Principal of the Year award from the School Administrators of Iowa.
“I am honored and humbled to be recognized as the Assistant Elementary Principal of the Year. This award is truly a reflection of our staff's sense of collective responsibility and willingness to engage in and embrace high-impact initiatives in order to improve student outcomes,” Allison expressed.
“Congratulations to Cory Allison, Iowa’s Assistant Elementary Principal of the Year! Cory’s honor is no surprise to those of us who know him. He is one of those special people who seem to be born to lead others. Perhaps his greatest strength lies in his ability to build strong relationships with students, parents and staff. He sees the best in everyone and helps them to see the best in themselves,” said Roark Horn, SAI executive director.
Allison has been assistant principal since 2014 and was previously a mentor teacher in the Saydel Community School District. He began his career as a seventh-grade reading teacher at Saydel. His education includes a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Upper Iowa University and a master’s degree in educational administration from Iowa State University.
