New Superintendents Institute - virtual learning

Virtual learning. Co-sponsored with the Iowa Association of School Boards, the institute provides new administrators the opportunity not only for learning focused on getting a solid start but also for developing their professional network. Superintendents who are serving for the first time in the role as well as those who are new to the state are encouraged to attend.

Intended Outcomes: Through participation in this institute, you will…

  1. Cultivate a professional learning network;
  2. Identify leadership strategies to support you in starting the year with consideration given to implications of COVID-19;
  3. Consider key legal issues that surface at the start of the year;
  4. Examine strategies for clarifying the Board’s expectations;
  5. Ensure clarity regarding your evaluation process;
  6. Attend to the district’s financial health with special attention on the impact of COVID-19;
  7. Tap into the insight and expertise of superintendents who are finishing their first and/or second year in the role; and
  8. Explore strategies to focus your leadership-life fit.
