Co-sponsored with the Iowa Association of School Boards, the institute provides new administrators the opportunity not only for learning focused on getting a solid start but also for developing their professional network. Superintendents who are serving for the first time in the role as well as those who are new to the state are encouraged to attend.

Intended Outcomes:  Through participation in this institute, you will…

  1. Cultivate a professional learning network;

  2. Examine strategies for clarifying the Board’s expectations;

  3. Ensure clarity regarding your evaluation process;

  4. Discuss relevant scenarios in light of pertinent legal issues;

  5. Attend to the district’s financial health;

  6. Tap into the insight and expertise of superintendents who are finishing their first year in the role;
