SAI regular and associate members are encouraged to sign up to serve on an SAI committee. Use the register button to access a form with the list of committees. Review committee descriptions below before completing form. Members will be appointed to a single committee as they are needed.

SAI regular and associate members are encouraged to sign up to serve on an SAI committee by June 15. Use the register button to access a form and select the committee(s) on which you would be willing to serve. Members will be appointed to a single committee as they are needed.

Review the committee descriptions before completing the form:

  • 2018 Administrator of the Year Selection Committee - Committee meets once via video conference and once at the SAI office to interview three finalists. Need four level-specific members for each award: assistant elementary principal, assistant secondary principal, central office, elementary, middle level, secondary and superintendent. The 2017 recipient serves as chairperson. SAI staff assigned to work with this committee: Tracy Harms
  • Professional Learning Committee - Committee meets twice—in the fall at the SAI office and in the spring via video conference—to inform the planning and provide support for SAI's learning program, which includes annual conference. (Meeting Dates: 10/12/17 and 4/17/18) SAI staff assigned to work with this committee: Dana Schon, Tracy Harms and Amy Swanson
  • School Law Conference Committee - Committee meets once or twice via video conference to plan and implement the annual school law conference. Need five members. SAI staff assigned to work with this committee: Matt Carver
  • Mentoring and Induction Program Committee - Committee meets once a year at the SAI office as advisory group to provide input to Mentoring and Induction Program. (Previous experience as a mentor or participation as a mentee valuable but not required.) (Meeting Date: 4/5/18) SAI staff assigned to work with this committee: Dana Schon, Amy Swanson
  • Legislative Platform Development/Monitoring Committee - Committee meets three to four times at the SAI office or via video conference to assist in developing and monitoring the association’s legislative platform. Need 10 members. SAI staff assigned to work with this committee: Roark Horn, Dave Wilkerson, Matt Carver
  • IPERS Committee - Committee meets as needed to develop specific legislative recommendations and ongoing response during the legislative session. Need five members. SAI staff assigned to work with this committee: Matt Carver and Dave Wilkerson
  • Member Recognition Task Force - Task force will meet one to two times at the SAI office or via video conference to review and recommend ways to best recognize the professional contributions of members, such as Administrators of the Year, years of service, retirees. Need five members. SAI staff assigned to work with this committee: Tracy Harms and Amy Swanson
  • Education Telecommunications Council/ Regional Telecommunications Councils - ETC establishes scheduling and site usage policies for educational users of the ICN, coordinates activities of the regional telecommunications councils, and develops proposed rules and changes to rules for recommendation to the commission, also recommends long-range plans for enhancements needed for educational applications. RTC deals with regional and local issues concerning educational uses of the ICN. Need members as vacancies occur in specific regions.
